Winter Meetings

There are a LOT of excellent workshops coming up soon. If you look up at the top of this page, you’ll see a tab that says Upcoming Events – we’ll keep this updated, and this is a good place to keep abreast of what’s going on!

In brief, here are some things that are coming your way. For each, click on the title to go straight to the flier!

Engineering Storage Facilities for Winter Vegetable Crops – Windsor CT, Feb 13. An excellent lineup if you are contemplating building a new storage facility for vegetable crops that you’re selling through the winter.

Cover Crop & Soil Health Forum – Concord NH, Feb 18. This daylong workshop features presentations and farmer-to-farmer discussions on cover cropping strategies and innovative practices. Registration deadline extended to next Tuesday (2/11) – sign up now if you would like to reserve a spot.

Tomato Grafting Demonstration – New London NH, Feb 26. If you’ve tried grafting tomatoes with little success, or if you’ve been intimidated by the idea of it, consider learning from a pro. Tasha Dunning from Spring Ledge Farm will show us how it’s done!

NH Vegetable and Berry Growers’ Association Annual Meeting – Boscawen NH, March 8. This year, featured speakers include Brian Spencer (Applied Bio-Nomics) focusing on biological controls in high tunnels, David Handley (UMaine) focusing on sweet corn and berry varieties, and Jack Manix from Walker Farm in Dummerston VT.

Organic Growers Workshop – Portsmouth NH, March  12. This workshop (which is suitable for organic and conventional growers!) focuses on insect, disease and weed management using organic practices.

Hope to see you soon!
