Survey about crop insurance for Northeast growers

David Conner and Jen Miller, from the Community Development and Applied Economics Department at the University of Vermont, are working on a project that examines the use of crop insurance as a risk management tool by vegetable and fruit growers. They are conducting a survey of vegetable and fruit growers throughout the Northeast.

Specifically, the survey asks about:

  • Methods vegetable and fruit growers are using to manage production risk
  • Vegetable and fruit growers experience with, and perception of, crop insurance policies
  • How well crop insurance programs serve vegetable and fruit growers

Responses are being collected from vegetable and fruits farmers in the Northeast. It’s a short (less than 10 minutes!) survey, and the results will be shared widely and used to inform farmers, technical service providers, program staff, and policymakers about the effectiveness of crop insurance from farmers’ perspectives and to generate suggestions for program improvements.

If you are willing to share your perspectives, please CLICK HERE to access the survey.
